Javan Rhinoceros
The Javan Rhinoceros is one of the rarest large mammals in the world, primarily found in Ujung Kulon National Park in Indonesia. It has a single horn, which can grow up to 25 centimeters long, and a thick, folded skin that resembles armor. Adult Javan rhinos typically weigh between 900 to 2,300 kilograms and can reach lengths of up to 3.1 meters.
This species is critically endangered, with an estimated population of fewer than 80 individuals. Habitat loss, poaching, and human encroachment are significant threats to their survival. Conservation efforts are ongoing to protect the remaining population and their habitat.
