James Stewart, Duke of Albany
James Stewart, Duke of Albany (c. 1430–1488), was a Scottish nobleman and a member of the House of Stewart. He was the son of James I of Scotland and Joan Beaufort, and he held the title of Duke of Albany from 1470 until his death. Albany played a significant role in Scottish politics during the late 15th century, often acting as a regent for the young King James III.
