James Howard, 4th Earl of Suffolk
James Howard, 4th Earl of Suffolk, was an English nobleman born in 1606. He was the son of Thomas Howard, 3rd Earl of Suffolk and Mary de Vere. James became the Earl of Suffolk in 1640, inheriting the title after his father's death. He was known for his involvement in the political and social affairs of his time, particularly during the tumultuous period of the English Civil War.
Suffolk was a supporter of the Royalist cause, aligning himself with King Charles I. His loyalty to the monarchy led to his imprisonment after the king's defeat. James Howard passed away in 1656, leaving behind a legacy tied to the turbulent history of 17th-century England.
