Jacques Plante
Jacques Plante was a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender, widely regarded as one of the greatest in the sport's history. Born on January 17, 1929, in Shawinigan, Quebec, he played the majority of his career with the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL. Plante was known for his innovative style and was the first goaltender to regularly wear a mask during games, which significantly changed the position.
Throughout his career, Plante won six Stanley Cups and was awarded the Vezina Trophy seven times, recognizing him as the league's best goaltender. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1978, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of ice hockey.
