Vezina Trophy
The Vezina Trophy is an annual award given to the best goaltender in the National Hockey League (NHL). It is named after Georges Vezina, a legendary goaltender who played for the Montreal Canadiens in the early 20th century. The trophy is awarded based on voting by the NHL's general managers at the end of each regular season.
The Vezina Trophy has been awarded since the 1926-27 NHL season. Criteria for selection include a goaltender's performance, including goals against average, save percentage, and overall impact on their team's success. Winning the Vezina is considered one of the highest honors for a goaltender in professional hockey.
