Jacinto Zamora
Jacinto Zamora was a prominent figure in the Philippine Revolution against Spanish colonial rule. Born on February 17, 1859, in San Miguel, Manila, he became a key leader in the fight for independence. Zamora was known for his advocacy of reforms and his role in the Katipunan, a revolutionary society that sought to overthrow Spanish authority.
Zamora was also a priest, which made his involvement in the revolution significant, as it challenged the traditional power structures of the time. He was executed by the Spanish authorities on February 17, 1897, alongside fellow leaders Mariano Gomez and Jose Burgos, in what is known as the Gomburza execution, which galvanized the movement for Philippine independence.
