Italo Balbo
Italo Balbo was an Italian politician and aviator, born on June 6, 1896, in Ferrara, Italy. He was a prominent figure in the Fascist Party and served as the Governor of Libya from 1934 to 1940. Balbo was known for his efforts in developing the region and promoting Italian colonization.
In addition to his political career, Balbo was an accomplished pilot and played a significant role in the early days of aviation. He led several transatlantic flights, including a famous flight to Chicago in 1933, which showcased Italy's aviation capabilities. Balbo died in a plane crash on June 28, 1940.
