Italian High Schools
Italian high schools, known as scuole superiori, typically last five years and cater to students aged 14 to 19. There are several types of high schools, including Liceo, which focuses on academic subjects; Istituto Tecnico, which emphasizes technical and vocational training; and Istituto Professionale, which prepares students for specific professions.
Students usually take a national exam called the Esame di Stato at the end of their studies, which is necessary for university admission. The curriculum includes a mix of subjects such as Italian literature, mathematics, and foreign languages, providing a well-rounded education.
