Islamic jurisprudence
Islamic jurisprudence, known as fiqh, is the system of laws and ethical guidelines derived from the Qur'an and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. It covers various aspects of life, including personal conduct, family matters, and social justice, aiming to provide a framework for Muslims to live in accordance with their faith.
The process of developing fiqh involves interpreting religious texts and considering the context of contemporary issues. Scholars, known as fuqaha, use methods like ijtihad (independent reasoning) to address new challenges, ensuring that Islamic law remains relevant and applicable in modern society.
