Iskander Mirza
Iskander Mirza was a prominent Pakistani politician and civil servant who served as the first President of Pakistan from 1956 to 1958. Born on November 13, 1899, in Delhi, he played a significant role in the country's early political landscape after its independence in 1947. Mirza held various key positions, including Governor-General and later Governor of East Bengal.
In 1958, Mirza abrogated the constitution and declared martial law, appointing General Muhammad Ayub Khan as the Chief Martial Law Administrator. This move led to his ousting just a few weeks later, marking the end of his political career. He passed away on November 13, 1969, in London.
