General Muhammad Ayub Khan
General Muhammad Ayub Khan was a prominent military and political leader in Pakistan. He served as the country's second President from 1958 to 1969 after leading a coup d'état that overthrew the civilian government. Ayub Khan is known for implementing significant economic reforms and promoting industrialization, which contributed to a period of growth in Pakistan.
During his presidency, Ayub Khan introduced the Constitution of 1962, which aimed to establish a presidential system of governance. However, his rule faced criticism for political repression and lack of democratic freedoms. Ultimately, widespread protests led to his resignation in 1969, marking the end of his decade-long rule.
