East Bengal
East Bengal was a region in the eastern part of the Indian subcontinent, which is now known as Bangladesh. It was part of British India until 1947, when the subcontinent was divided into India and Pakistan. East Bengal became the eastern province of Pakistan, known as East Pakistan, and was separated from West Pakistan by about 1,600 kilometers of Indian territory.
The region has a rich cultural heritage, with influences from various religions and ethnic groups. It is known for its lush landscapes, rivers, and vibrant traditions, including music, dance, and festivals. In 1971, after a struggle for independence, East Pakistan became the independent nation of Bangladesh.
