The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) is a global community of network designers, operators, vendors, and researchers concerned with the evolution of the Internet architecture and the smooth operation of the Internet. It develops and promotes voluntary Internet standards, particularly the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and the Internet Protocol (IP).
IETF operates through a series of working groups, each focused on specific topics related to Internet technology. These groups produce documents known as Requests for Comments (RFCs), which serve as the primary means of developing and sharing technical specifications and standards for the Internet.
