Indium Tin Oxide
Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) is a transparent conducting oxide made from a mixture of indium oxide and tin oxide. It is widely used in electronic devices, such as touchscreens and flat-panel displays, due to its excellent electrical conductivity and optical transparency. ITO allows light to pass through while also conducting electricity, making it ideal for various applications.
ITO is typically applied as a thin film on glass or plastic substrates. Its unique properties enable the development of advanced technologies, including solar cells and LED lighting. However, the availability of indium raises concerns about sustainability, prompting research into alternative materials.
