Icelandic language
The Icelandic language is a North Germanic language primarily spoken in Iceland. It is closely related to Old Norse, the language of the Vikings, and has changed little over the centuries, preserving many ancient features.
Icelandic is known for its complex grammar and rich vocabulary, which includes many words derived from Old Norse. The language uses a unique alphabet that includes letters like ð (eth) and þ (thorn). Efforts to maintain the purity of Icelandic have led to the creation of new words for modern concepts instead of borrowing from other languages.
