Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta
Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta, often referred to as IBK, was a Malian politician who served as the President of Mali from 2013 until his resignation in 2020. He was born on January 29, 1945, in Koutiala, Mali. Before his presidency, Keïta held various political roles, including Prime Minister and President of the National Assembly. He was known for his efforts to stabilize the country following the 2012 crisis.
During his presidency, Keïta faced significant challenges, including security issues related to jihadist groups and political unrest. His government struggled to address corruption and improve living conditions for citizens. In August 2020, he was ousted in a military coup, leading to a transitional government in Mali.
