Ibn Zohr
Ibn Zohr, also known as Avenzoar, was a prominent 12th-century physician and philosopher from Al-Andalus, which is present-day Spain. He is best known for his contributions to medicine, particularly in the fields of surgery and pharmacology. His most famous work, the "Kitab al-Taisir," served as a medical guide and was widely used in both the Islamic world and Europe.
In addition to his medical achievements, Ibn Zohr was also a notable figure in the Islamic Golden Age, a period marked by significant advancements in science and culture. His teachings influenced later scholars, including Averroes and Avicenna, and he is remembered for his emphasis on observation and clinical practice in medicine.
