Hussein ibn Ali
Hussein ibn Ali was the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad and the son of Ali ibn Abi Talib and Fatimah, the Prophet's daughter. Born in 626 CE in Medina, he is revered in both Sunni and Shia Islam, though he holds a particularly significant place in Shia tradition as a symbol of resistance against tyranny.
Hussein is best known for his role in the Battle of Karbala in 680 CE, where he and his followers were martyred while opposing the Umayyad caliph Yazid I. This event is commemorated annually during Ashura, marking Hussein's sacrifice and his stand for justice and righteousness.
