Hifikepunye Pohamba
Hifikepunye Pohamba is a Namibian politician who served as the President of Namibia from 2005 to 2015. He was a member of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) and played a significant role in Namibia's struggle for independence from South Africa. Before becoming president, he held various government positions, including Minister of Lands, Resettlement, and Rehabilitation.
During his presidency, Pohamba focused on national unity, economic development, and poverty reduction. He was known for promoting social welfare programs and improving access to education and healthcare. After completing his two terms, he stepped down in 2015, handing over leadership to Hage Geingob.
