Hermann von Richthofen
Hermann von Richthofen, also known as the "Red Baron," was a famous German fighter pilot during World War I. Born on May 2, 1892, he became one of the war's most skilled aviators, credited with shooting down 80 enemy aircraft. His distinctive red aircraft made him a legendary figure in aviation history.
Richthofen served in the Luftstreitkräfte, the air service of the German Army, and was known for his tactical flying skills and leadership. He led a squadron called Jagdstaffel 11, which became renowned for its effectiveness. Richthofen was killed in action on April 21, 1918, and remains an iconic symbol of aerial combat.
