Henrietta Maria of France
Henrietta Maria of France was born on November 25, 1609, in Paris, France. She was the daughter of King Henry IV of France and Marie de' Medici. In 1625, she married King Charles I of England, becoming the queen consort of England, Scotland, and Ireland.
Henrietta Maria was a devout Catholic, which created tension between her and her Protestant husband. She played a significant role in the English Civil War, supporting the royalist cause. After the defeat of her husband, she fled to France, where she lived until her death on September 10, 1669.
