Hashemite Dynasty
The Hashemite Dynasty is a royal family that traces its lineage back to the Prophet Muhammad. It has played a significant role in the history of the Arab world, particularly in the establishment of modern states in the Middle East. The dynasty is currently the ruling family of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where it has maintained power since the country's independence in 1946.
The Hashemites also historically ruled over the Hejaz region in present-day Saudi Arabia, where they were instrumental in the Arab Revolt against Ottoman rule during World War I. Today, King Abdullah II is the current monarch, continuing the family's legacy of leadership and governance in Jordan.
