Hani people
The Hani people are an ethnic group primarily found in the mountainous regions of southwestern China, particularly in Yunnan Province. They are known for their rich cultural heritage, including unique traditions, festivals, and colorful clothing. The Hani people primarily engage in agriculture, cultivating rice and other crops on terraced fields.
The Hani language belongs to the Tibeto-Burman branch of the Sino-Tibetan language family. Their society is organized into clans, and they practice a form of animism, often incorporating elements of Buddhism and Daoism. The Hani are also recognized for their intricate rice terrace farming, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
