Haider al-Abadi
Haider al-Abadi is an Iraqi politician who served as the Prime Minister of Iraq from 2014 to 2018. He is a member of the Islamic Dawa Party and played a significant role in the fight against ISIS, leading efforts to reclaim territory lost to the militant group during his tenure.
Born on April 25, 1962, in Baghdad, al-Abadi studied engineering and later earned a doctorate in the United Kingdom. He became involved in politics after the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003 and has held various governmental positions, including Minister of Communications before becoming Prime Minister.
