HPV 18
HPV 18 is a type of human papillomavirus (HPV) that is known to be a high-risk strain. It is primarily associated with the development of certain cancers, particularly cervical cancer, as well as other genital and oropharyngeal cancers. HPV 18 is one of the most common types found in cervical cancer cases.
Vaccines are available to protect against HPV, including HPV 18. These vaccines can significantly reduce the risk of developing HPV-related cancers. Regular screenings, such as Pap smears, are also important for early detection and prevention of cervical cancer linked to HPV infections.
