Gujjars
The Gujjars are a prominent ethnic group primarily found in the northern regions of India, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. They are traditionally known as pastoralists, often herding livestock such as sheep and goats. Gujjars have a rich cultural heritage, with their own distinct language, Gujjar, and vibrant folk traditions.
In addition to their pastoral lifestyle, many Gujjars have transitioned to agriculture and other professions. They are recognized for their contributions to the socio-economic fabric of the regions they inhabit. The community is also known for its strong sense of identity and pride in their traditions.
