Grand Duke Sergei of Russia
Grand Duke Sergei of Russia was a member of the Romanov family, born on November 11, 1857. He was the son of Grand Duke Paul Alexandrovich and Princess Alexandra of Saxe-Altenburg. Sergei served as the Governor-General of Moscow and was known for his dedication to public service and military affairs.
In 1905, Sergei was assassinated by a revolutionary group, which marked a significant moment in Russian history. His death highlighted the growing tensions between the monarchy and revolutionary movements. Sergei was buried in the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul in St. Petersburg, a traditional burial site for Russian royalty.
