Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich
Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich was a member of the Russian royal family, born on May 11, 1857. He was the son of Grand Duke Alexander Alexandrovich and Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna. Sergei served as the Governor-General of Moscow and was known for his strong support of the Russian Orthodox Church.
He was a prominent figure in the Russian Empire until his assassination in 1905 by a revolutionary group. Sergei was married to Princess Elisabeth of Hesse, who later became a nun. His life and death were significant events in the context of the growing unrest in Russia during the early 20th century.
