Gosaikunda Lake
Gosaikunda Lake is a high-altitude lake located in the Langtang National Park of Nepal, situated at an elevation of 4,380 meters (14,370 feet). It is a significant pilgrimage site for Hindus, believed to be created by the god Shiva when he pierced a glacier to obtain water. The lake is surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, including the Langtang Himal range.
The lake is accessible via trekking routes, making it a popular destination for adventure enthusiasts. During the full moon in August, thousands of pilgrims visit to celebrate the Gosaikunda Mela, a festival that honors the lake's spiritual significance. The area is also home to diverse flora and fauna, contributing to its ecological importance.
