Gosaikunda Mela
The Gosaikunda Mela is an annual festival held in the Langtang National Park of Nepal, centered around the sacred lake of Gosaikunda. This event attracts thousands of pilgrims and tourists who come to celebrate and pay homage to the Hindu deity Lord Shiva. The festival usually takes place during the full moon in August, coinciding with the Hindu month of Shrawan.
During the Mela, participants engage in various religious rituals, including bathing in the holy waters of Gosaikunda, which is believed to cleanse sins. The event also features cultural performances, local food stalls, and traditional music, creating a vibrant atmosphere that showcases the rich heritage of the region.
