Gilbert de Clare, 6th Earl of Gloucester
Gilbert de Clare, 6th Earl of Gloucester (c. 1291–1314), was a prominent English nobleman during the late medieval period. He was the son of Gilbert de Clare, 5th Earl of Gloucester and Joan of Acre, the daughter of King Edward I. Gilbert inherited his title and vast estates after his father's death in 1295.
He played a significant role in the political landscape of England, particularly during the reign of King Edward II. Gilbert was involved in various military campaigns, including the Scottish Wars, and was known for his loyalty to the king, although he later became disillusioned with Edward's rule. He died at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314.
