Ghadar
The term "Ghadar" refers to the Ghadar Movement, a revolutionary campaign that emerged in the early 20th century among Indian expatriates in North America. The movement aimed to end British colonial rule in India through armed struggle and was primarily led by the Ghadar Party, which was founded in 1913.
The Ghadar Movement gained momentum during World War I, as many Indian immigrants sought to mobilize support for an uprising against the British. Key figures included Lala Hardayal and Bhagat Singh Thind, who inspired others to join the cause. Although the movement ultimately failed, it played a significant role in raising awareness about India's struggle for independence.
