German East Africa
German East Africa was a colonial territory in East Africa that existed from 1885 to 1919. It included present-day Tanzania, Rwanda, and Burundi. The region was administered by the German Empire and was known for its rich resources, including agricultural products like coffee and sisal.
During World War I, German East Africa was invaded by Allied forces, leading to its eventual defeat. After the war, the territory was mandated to Britain and Belgium, resulting in significant changes to its administration and governance. The legacy of German colonial rule still influences the region today.
