George II of Greece
George II of Greece was born on July 19, 1890, and became king in 1922 after the abdication of his father, King Constantine I. His reign was marked by political instability and the challenges of the Greek Civil War, which began in 1946.
In 1947, George II went into exile due to the civil conflict but returned to Greece in 1950. He continued to rule until his death on April 1, 1947. His reign saw significant changes in Greece, including the transition from monarchy to a republic in the years following his death.
