George I of Greece
George I of Greece was born on December 24, 1845, in Denmark. He became the King of Greece in 1863 after the abdication of King Otto. His reign lasted until his assassination in 1913, making him one of the longest-serving monarchs in Greek history.
During his time as king, George I worked to modernize Greece and expand its territory. He played a significant role in the Balkan Wars, which helped to increase Greece's influence in the region. His leadership contributed to the establishment of Greece as a more prominent nation in southeastern Europe.
