General Choi Hong Hi
General Choi Hong Hi was a prominent South Korean military officer and martial artist, best known for founding the martial art of Taekwondo. Born on November 9, 1918, he played a significant role in the development and promotion of Taekwondo, which combines elements of traditional Korean martial arts with influences from Japanese karate.
Choi served in the South Korean army during the Korean War and later became a key figure in the establishment of Taekwondo as a global sport. He was instrumental in forming the International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) in 1966, helping to spread the practice of Taekwondo worldwide.
