International Taekwondo Federation
The International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) is a global organization that promotes and governs the martial art of Taekwondo. Founded in 1966 by General Choi Hong Hi, the ITF focuses on traditional Taekwondo techniques, forms, and self-defense. It aims to foster international cooperation and understanding through martial arts.
The ITF organizes competitions, seminars, and training programs worldwide, helping practitioners improve their skills and knowledge. It also establishes standards for grading and certification, ensuring consistency in teaching and practice across its member countries. The ITF is one of the two main governing bodies of Taekwondo, alongside the World Taekwondo (WT).
