Gas Lift
Gas lift is a method used in the oil and gas industry to enhance the production of hydrocarbons from wells. It involves injecting gas, usually natural gas, into the wellbore, which reduces the density of the fluid column. This decrease in density allows the oil or gas to flow more easily to the surface, improving overall production rates.
The gas lift system typically consists of a compressor that supplies the gas, a series of valves, and a network of tubing. This technique is particularly useful in offshore drilling and in wells where natural pressure is insufficient to bring the hydrocarbons to the surface.
