Gadaa System
The Gadaa System is a traditional socio-political structure of the Oromo people in Ethiopia. It organizes society into age sets and groups, allowing for democratic governance and leadership rotation every eight years. This system emphasizes collective decision-making and community participation, ensuring that all members have a voice in governance.
In the Gadaa System, leaders, known as Abba Gadaa, are elected based on their wisdom and experience. The system also plays a crucial role in cultural identity, conflict resolution, and social cohesion among the Oromo, promoting values such as equality and justice within the community.
