Fyodor I of Russia
Fyodor I of Russia, also known as Fyodor Ivanovich, was the Tsar of Russia from 1584 until his death in 1598. He was the son of Ivan IV (Ivan the Terrible) and Anastasia Romanovna. Fyodor's reign was marked by a decline in central authority and increasing influence from the boyars, or noble families, as he struggled with health issues and was often seen as a weak ruler.
After Fyodor's death, the Rurik dynasty ended, leading to a period of political instability known as the Time of Troubles. This era saw various factions vying for power, ultimately resulting in the establishment of the Romanov dynasty in 1613. Fyodor's legacy is often overshadowed by the turmoil that followed his reign.
