Free Destourian Party
The Free Destourian Party (PDP) is a political party in Tunisia founded in 2001. It emerged from the historical Destour party, which played a significant role in Tunisia's independence from French colonial rule. The PDP advocates for democratic governance, civil liberties, and economic reform.
The party gained prominence during the Arab Spring in 2011, which led to the ousting of former president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali. The PDP aims to represent secular and liberal values in Tunisian politics, focusing on issues such as social justice and individual rights while participating in the country's evolving political landscape.
