Frederick I, Duke of Saxe-Gotha
Frederick I, Duke of Saxe-Gotha, was a German nobleman born in 1646. He became the Duke of Saxe-Gotha in 1672 and ruled until his death in 1691. Frederick was known for his efforts to promote education and culture in his duchy, establishing schools and supporting the arts.
