Franco-Flemish War
The Franco-Flemish War (1297-1305) was a conflict between the Kingdom of France and the County of Flanders. It arose from economic tensions and disputes over trade, particularly in the lucrative wool industry. The war was marked by several battles, with the Flemish seeking to assert their independence from French influence.
The conflict ended with the Treaty of Athis-sur-Orge in 1305, which restored peace and reaffirmed Flanders' allegiance to France. This war highlighted the growing importance of regional powers in medieval Europe and set the stage for future conflicts between France and its neighboring territories.
