Fracking Sand
Fracking sand, also known as proppant, is a type of sand used in the hydraulic fracturing process to extract oil and natural gas from underground rock formations. This sand is specially selected for its strength and size, allowing it to withstand high pressure and keep fractures open, enabling the flow of hydrocarbons.
The primary source of fracking sand is silica, which is abundant in certain regions. The sand is transported to drilling sites, where it is mixed with water and chemicals to create a slurry. This mixture is then injected into the well, facilitating the extraction of energy resources.
