Flying lemurs, also known as colugos, are unique mammals found in Southeast Asia. Despite their name, they are not true lemurs but belong to their own order called Dermoptera. These creatures are known for their remarkable ability to glide through the trees, using a large membrane of skin that stretches from their neck to their fingertips and toes.
Flying lemurs are nocturnal and primarily feed on leaves, fruits, and flowers. They have large eyes adapted for night vision and a flat body that helps them navigate their forest habitats. Their gliding ability allows them to move efficiently between trees in search of food and to escape predators.
