The flying lemur, also known as colugo, is a unique mammal found in the forests of Southeast Asia. Despite its name, it is not a true lemur but belongs to its own order called Dermoptera. These creatures are known for their remarkable ability to glide through the trees, thanks to a large membrane of skin that stretches from their neck to their fingertips and toes.
Flying lemurs are nocturnal and primarily feed on leaves, fruits, and flowers. They have large eyes adapted for night vision and a flat body that helps them navigate their arboreal habitat. Their gliding ability allows them to travel distances of up to 150 meters between trees.
