Fluoride Gel
Fluoride gel is a topical treatment used to help prevent tooth decay. It contains a high concentration of fluoride, which strengthens tooth enamel and makes it more resistant to acid attacks from bacteria in the mouth. Dentists often apply it during routine check-ups, especially for children and individuals at higher risk for cavities.
The gel is typically applied directly to the teeth using a tray or brush and is left on for a few minutes to allow for maximum absorption. After treatment, patients are usually advised not to eat or drink for a short period to enhance its effectiveness.
