Flour Moths
Flour moths, also known as Indian meal moths, are small insects that commonly infest stored food products, particularly grains and flour. They are characterized by their distinctive wings, which are reddish-brown with a lighter grayish-brown tip. Adult moths typically measure about half an inch in length and are attracted to warm, dry environments.
The larvae of flour moths are the primary pests, feeding on various food items, including cereals, nuts, and dried fruits. They can contaminate food with their webbing and droppings, making it unappetizing and unsafe to consume. Proper storage and regular cleaning can help prevent infestations.
