Flight 1549
On January 15, 2009, US Airways Flight 1549 experienced a dual engine failure shortly after takeoff from LaGuardia Airport in New York City. The aircraft struck a flock of Canada geese, leading to the loss of thrust in both engines. Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger and First Officer Jeff Skiles quickly assessed the situation and decided to land the plane in the Hudson River.
The emergency landing was successful, and all 155 passengers and crew members survived. The incident became known as the "Miracle on the Hudson" and highlighted the importance of pilot training and emergency preparedness in aviation safety.
