Fastnet Lighthouse
Fastnet Lighthouse is located on Fastnet Rock, about 4.6 miles off the southern coast of Ireland. Built in 1853, it stands 51 meters tall and is one of the most famous lighthouses in the world. The lighthouse was designed to guide ships safely through the treacherous waters of the Celtic Sea.
The structure is made of granite and features a distinctive black and white color scheme. Fastnet Lighthouse is often referred to as the "Teardrop of Ireland" because it is the last land sighted by emigrants leaving for America. It remains an important navigational aid for maritime traffic in the region.
